Background:
On May 14, 2013, the Autorité des marchés financiers in Quebec (the AMF) issued a warning to investors about the website of Anyoption, which provides a trading platform for options.
In its warning, the AMF said that it had received a complaint from a Quebec resident who had traded through Anyoption’s website.
The BCSC recently received a complaint about Anyoption from an Alberta resident, but is not aware of any British Columbia residents who may have traded through Anyoption’s trading platform.
Anyoption is not registered to trade in, or advise on, securities or exchange contracts in British Columbia.
We urge British Columbia residents to exercise caution when dealing with firms that are not registered to trade or advise in British Columbia.
