Background:

In 2008, British Columbia and other Canadian residents were solicited by Oil International, LLC (Oil International) to purchase the securities of Black Gold International, Ltd. (Black Gold), a company purportedly based in Nassau, Bahamas, with a registered office in Belize.

Neither Oil International nor Black Gold are registered to sell securities in British Columbia and Black Gold has not filed a prospectus with the British Columbia Securities Commission.

On May 8, 2009, the Saskatchewan Financial Services Commission (the SFSC) issued a Temporary Order against Oil International, Black Gold and others.  On May 22, 2009, the SFSC issued an Extending Order, extending the Temporary Order.

On May 11, 2009, the International Financial Services Commission of Belize issued a warning and cease and desist order against Black Gold.


On June 2, 2009, the Autorité des marchés financiers, in Quebec, issued a warning about Oil International, Black Gold and other parties.
