Background:

An entity identifying itself as China International Capital Group (CICG) may be contacting shareholders of York-Rio Resources Ltd. (York-Rio) and offering to buy their York-Rio shares at a substantial premium. 

The British Columbia Securities Commission (the BCSC) is aware of at least one British Columbia resident who has been solicited. 

CICG is not registered in British Columbia to trade in, or advise on, securities or exchange contracts.

Similar offerings were made to York-Rio shareholders in 2009 and 2010 by entities identifying themselves as Penn Capital Management Ltd. (Penn Capital) and Featherstone and Bellman Equity Exchange Group (FAB), respectively.  The BCSC issued investor alerts about Penn Capital and FAB and placed them on the Investment Caution List.
