AND

IN THE MATTER OF HARBANSE SINGH DOMAN

Variation Order under Section 171

[para 1]
On October 14, 1999, the British Columbia Securities Commission made an order under section 161(1)(c) of the Securities Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 418 that the exemptions described in sections 44 to 47, 74, 75 and 98 of the Act do not apply to Harbanse Singh Doman for a period of 10 years that expires October 25, 2009.

[para 2]
Doman represents that he wishes to purchase Class A shares and Class B shares of Doman Industries Limited using the exemption described in section 98(1)(b) of the Act.

[para 3]
The Commission considers that to do so would not be prejudicial to the public interest.

[para 4]
The Commission orders under section 171 of the Act, that the Order is varied to permit Doman to use the exemption described in section 98(1)(b) of the Act for purchases of Class A shares and Class B shares of Doman Industries provided that the purchases are made through the facilities of the Toronto Stock Exchange.

[para 5]
March 22, 2001.
