Edward John Carter

Background
¶ 1 On May 30, 1988, the Superintendent of Brokers issued a Notice of Hearing and temporary orders against Edward John Carter and others with respect to allegations of manipulation of share prices on the Vancouver Stock Exchange and fraud perpetrated on a mutual fund in the United States.

¶ 2 On June 9, 1988, the Commission adjourned the hearing generally and extended the temporary orders until a hearing is held and a decision rendered.

¶ 3 On August 18, 2010, the Executive Director issued a Notice of Discontinuance [2010 BCSECCOM 465] discontinuing the proceedings against Carter.

The Order
¶ 4 The Commission, considering it not prejudicial to the public interest to do so, orders, under section 171 of the Act, that the temporary orders be revoked.
