The British Columbia Securities Commission will hold a hearing at the
Commission’s 12th floor hearing room, 701 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, British Columbia beginning at 10:00 am on Friday, December 16, 2005, to consider a request by Barrick Gold Corporation for orders to prevent the operation of the shareholder rights plan adopted by Placer Dome Inc.
