Cease Trade Orders
View the current cease traded issuers list.
To locate cease trade orders, use the following sources:
- Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) National Cease Trade Order (CTO) Database

The National CTO database includes outstanding CTOs for companies and individuals from BC and other Canadian jurisdictions. Coverage of historical individual CTOs is complete for all jurisdictions back to January 1, 1999, and historical company CTO coverage begins in 1971 for some jurisdictions. The CSA website provides specific information about the coverage of the National CTO database
.
The National CTO database includes cease trade orders for failure to file as well as cease trade orders found in enforcement decisions, settlements, and temporary orders. - BCSC Decisions & Orders
BCSC Decisions & Orders includes cease trade order documents (including enforcement decisions, settlements, and temporary orders that may include cease trade orders) issued by the British Columbia Securities Commission against companies and individuals since November 1, 1996.
In 2005, the BCSC's Information Management and Capital Markets Regulation divisions conducted a survey on behalf of the CSA to assess the effectiveness of the National CTO Database. We have summarized the results of the survey in a memo to the CSA Executive Directors Committee
, and we continue to work with the CSA to plan improvements to the National CTO Database.
