What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for sharing and distributing website content, like news headlines. Using an RSS reader, you can view feeds from news sources and link to the full stories.

RSS readers (also known as aggregators) will download and display RSS feeds for you. Free readers are available for download from the web, or you can purchase a reader. Some readers are desktop-based, while others download your feeds to a webpage.
