This BC Notice announces the adoption of National Instrument 55-104 Insider Reporting Requirements and Exemptions and its companion policy, effective April 30, 2010. The notice also announces consequential amendments to a number of other national and local instruments and policies, including the Securities Rules.

The instruments and the consequential amendments, combined with amendments to the Securities Act that were passed in Bill 20, the Securities Amendment Act, 2006, substantially consolidate insider reporting requirements and exemptions in the new instrument.

This CSA staff notice provides answers to frequently asked questions regarding National Instrument 55-104 Insider Reporting Requirements and Exemptions.

This Notice announces that the BCSC has not objected to the rescission of the MFDA's proposed housekeeping amendment to its Rule 1.1.7 - Business Names, Styles, etc.  The BCSC initially published a notice of non-objection of MFDA's proposed amendment to Rule 1.1.7 on September 26, 2008.  The MFDA subsequently withdrew the proposal and issued Bulletin #0388-P to explain why the amendment was withdrawn.  The MFDA intends to advance the proposed amendment to Rule 1.1.7(d) together with related public interest amendments to MFDA Rule 1.2.1(d) (dual occupations).
