  • BC Notice 2003/12 - The BC Model - Draft Legislation, Commentary And Guides For A New Way To Regulate

This BCN announces that the Commission is publishing for comment a draft Securities Act and Rules, a Commentary on the legislation and two draft guides for market participants.

The draft legislation illustrates how BC’s Model, a streamlined and simplified system of securities regulation, could work. The principles-based model is backed by new investor remedies and enforcement powers.

The draft legislation refines three core proposals introduced last year:

    • Continuous Market Access
    • Code of Conduct for registrants
    • Firm-Only registration

We invite you to write to us about any aspect of the BC Model. We will consider everything received before June 30, 2003.

  • BC Notice 2003/13 - Securities Amendment Act, 2003

This notice announces amendments to the Securities Act.
  • BC Instrument 33-508 - Exemption from sections 16 and 73 of the Securities Rules - Registrant Ownership

This BC Instrument exempts IDA and MFDA members from the requirement to seek approval to hold an interest in a registrant or to give notice of a change of ownership of the member. It also provides an exemption from those same requirements for registrants who are not members of the IDA or MFDA for certain relationships with a member of the IDA or MFDA.
