  • CSA Notice 11-303 - The Uniform Securities Legislation Project

    This CSA Notice advises market participants that the CSA has created the USL Project, the objective of which is to develop a uniform securities act and uniform securities rules within two years for adoption across Canada. The Notice further advises as to the members of the USL Steering Committee who will be overseeing the Project and sets out the methodology the USL Project will follow. CSA projects will be organized into one of three tracks. Track 1 - The USL Project; Track 2 - Broader reforms the development of which may exceed the 2 year timeline of the USL Project (such as ideas coming out of the BCSC Deregulation Project and Ontario's 5 Year Review Committee); and Track 3 - Emerging issues that require a more timely response. These tracks will run parallel to each other.
