  • Proposed amendments to MFDA Rule 1.2.1 (D) (Salespersons - Dual Occupations)

    The Commission is publishing for comment proposed amendments to MFDA 1.2.1(d) (Salespersons - Dual Occupations). Comment period expires: July 28, 2008

  • CSA Staff Notice 52-321 - Early adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards, use of US GAAP and reference to IFRS-IASB

    The CSA is publishing CSA Staff Notice 52-321 Early adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards, use of US GAAP and reference to IFRS-IASB to update the market on staff's views on the issues raised in CSA Concept Paper 52-402 Possible changes to securities rules relating to International Financial Reporting Standards. The Staff Notice advises that:
    • staff are prepared to recommend exemptive relief on a case by case basis to permit domestic issuers to prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS before January 1, 2011, and
    • staff propose to retain the existing option for a domestic issuer that is also a SEC issuer to use US GAAP.

  • BC Notice 2008/32 - Adoption of Amendments to National Instrument 51-102 Continuous Disclosure Obligations and Related Amendments and Adoption of Amendments to National Instrument 52-108 Auditor Oversight

    This notice announces the adoption of amendments to National Instrument 51-102 Continuous Disclosure Obligations that permit shareholders to solicit proxies in certain circumstances without an information circular, along with other consequential amendments to a related form, the companion policy and other instruments. The amendments also remove carve-outs from certain provisions in NI 51-102 in some jurisdictions. The amendments to National Instrument 52-108 Auditor Oversight remove carve-outs in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba from s. 2.1 and Part 3 of NI 52-108. All amendments are effective July 4, 2008.
