BCSC release review of TSX Venture exchange

Vancouver -- The British Columbia Securities Commission has released its review of the TSX Venture Exchange Inc.'s performance in fulfilling its regulatory functions in its operations as a stock exchange.

BCSC staff completed a review of the TSX Venture's regulatory functions in December 2005 that included: compliance; trading; clearing and settlement; and systems. The Alberta Securities Commission reviewed other aspects such as corporate finance and the exchange's corporate governance and financial viability.

The BCSC and ASC are the lead regulators for the TSX Venture which is headquartered in Calgary with local offices in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal.
