BCN 2001/62 - Bulk Renewals of Registration and New Forms [BCN - Rescinded]

Related Document(s):

To harmonize with other jurisdictions, we have been moving towards a December 31 annual registration cycle.  All registration and renewal fees are now being pro-rated to December 31.  By December 31, 2002 every firm and individual registered to trade in or advise on securities or exchange contracts in British Columbia will have an annual December 31 registration cycle.  Because renewals will all become due at the same time, we have introduced a bulk renewal process.

For the bulk renewal process, the Executive Director has specified two new forms.  BC Form 31-904F2 is used if both the firm registration and registrations for individuals in the firm are being renewed on December 31, 2001.  BC Form 31-904F3 is used if individual registrations but not the firm’s registration are renewed on December 31, 2001.

The current renewal form has been re-numbered from BC Form 31-904F (formerly Form 5) to 31-904F1.  BC Form 31-904F1 will continue being used for any registrations, whether for individuals or firms, with a renewal date other than December 31, 2001.  These forms are needed during the transition period to a December 31 annual registration cycle.

We have amended the Index of Forms attached to BC Policy 13-601 Required Forms to include BC Forms 31-904F1, 31-904F2 and 31-904F3.  A copy of the amended Index, which is effective September 5, 2001, is attached to this notice and can also be found on the Commission’s website at www.bcsc.bc.ca.
