The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) are publishing for comment proposed amendments to National Instrument 21-101 Marketplace Operations and National Instrument 23-101 Trading Rules, including amendments to related companion policies and forms. 

The attached CSA notice describes what we and other members of the CSA are proposing. The proposed amendments would:

  • increase consistency, streamline and update the regulatory requirements for exchanges, quotation and trade reporting systems, and alternative trading systems
  • impose additional reporting and transparency requirements on those marketplaces and information processors
  • provide guidance on key provisions, including the definitions of marketplace and order

The CSA notice describes where you can direct your comments about the proposed changes. We will consider all comments received by June 16, 2011.
