IN THE MATTER OF REPORTING COMPANIES UNDER THE BRITISH COLUMBIA COMPANY ACT AND THE DEFINITION OF "REPORTING ISSUER"

Designation Order under Section 1(1)

WHEREAS effective November 1, 1989, the Securities Amendment Act, 1989, S.B.C. 1989, c. 78 amends the definition of "reporting issuer" in section 1 of the Securities Act, S.B.C. 1985, c.83 (the "Act") to provide that "reporting issuer" no longer includes an issuer that is a reporting company under the British Columbia Company Act;

AND WHEREAS it is expedient to provide that each issuer that is, as of October 31, 1989, a reporting issuer under the Act by virtue only of being a reporting company under the Company Act will continue to be a reporting issuer under the Act;

AND WHEREAS under section 1(1) of the Act, the British Columbia Securities Commission may make an order designating an issuer as a reporting issuer for the purpose of the definition of reporting issuer;

IT IS ORDERED under section 1(1) of the Act that, effective November 1, 1989, each issuer that is, as of October 31, 1989, a reporting issuer under the Act by virtue only of being a reporting company under the Company Act is designated as a reporting issuer under the Act.
