NIN 95/35 - McKenzie Investigation Report Released [NIN - Rescinded]

On Friday, October 13, 1995, the Honourable Elizabeth Cull, Minister of Finance and Corporate Relations, released the first volume of the report of the Honourable Lloyd McKenzie.

In 1994, the Minister had asked Mr. McKenzie to conduct an investigation into allegations made by former B.C. Securities Commission employee Adrian Du Plessis concerning decisions of the Superintendent of Brokers to issue receipts for prospectuses of Cycomm International Inc. and Cam-Net Communications Network Inc.

As the Minister announced in a new release on October 13th, The Honourable McKenzie concluded that the Superintendent of Brokers acted in the public interest and he noted that the superintendent took steps to be fully informed and to weigh the pros and cons of his decision.
