The British Columbia Securities Commission is publishing for information a notice issued by the Financial Institutions Commission on August 4, 1998. The notice advises that the provisions of the Mortgage Brokers Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 313, that deem persons registered under the Securities Act to be registered as mortgage brokers will be repealed within the next year.
This is one of several amendments to the Mortgage Brokers Act contained in the Finance and Corporate Relations Statutes Amendment Act, 1998, S.B.C. 1998, c. 7, which has received Royal Assent but has not yet been proclaimed in force.
