Media Advisory: BCSC Chair to speak in Kamloops

Vancouver – The British Columbia Securities Commission’s chair, Brenda Leong, will be in Kamloops on Feb. 24, 2011 to speak about the importance of Western Canada’s venture capital markets and the challenges facing the regulators that oversee them.

In her speech, Ms. Leong will discuss the significance and impact small and medium-sized businesses have on B.C. and Canada’s economy. She will also discuss the role of securities regulators in fostering dynamic and competitive venture capital markets for both public and private companies.
