New Commissioner appointed to the British Columbia Securities Commission

Vancouver – Brenda Leong, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the British Columbia Securities Commission, is pleased to announce the appointment of Gordon Holloway as a commissioner to its Board.

“Gordon is a chartered accountant with over 30 years’ experience serving investment, construction and transportation companies, real estate development and educational institutions. His financial expertise will assist us in our securities regulatory policy and decisions,” said Leong.

Mr. Holloway worked at Ernst & Young, McKnight Johnson and KPMG Chartered Accountants.  He has served as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC; and served on the boards of the City of Abbotsford Economic Development Commission, the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce and the Abbotsford Community Foundation.

The BC Securities Commission is the independent provincial government agency responsible for regulating trading in securities within the province.
