BCSC ANTI-FRAUD CAMPAIGN COMES TO KELOWNA: “The City” financial life skills course prepares future investors in BC classrooms

Vancouver - Representatives from the British Columbia Securities Commission and the B.C. Crime Prevention Association will be joining together with Kelowna Mission MLA Sindi Hawkins at a special event for students, parents and teachers at Mount Boucherie Secondary School. The event will mark the second year that the BCSC has been offering its popular financial life skills program helping students learn important concepts such as budgeting, savings and investing as well as making them aware of investment fraud.

The Central Okanagan stop comes on the heels of a series of successful investor education sessions in October as part of the BCSC's new InvestRight program designed to raise awareness of investment fraud in communities throughout B.C. Additional information about the programs can be found at www.InvestRight.org. The next stop is scheduled for November 9th in Kamloops.
