Vancouver - The B.C. Securities Commission’s response to the Ontario Securities Commission’s comments on the BCSC’s draft legislation is now available on the commission’s website (www.bcsc.bc.ca).

In the response, BCSC Chair Doug Hyndman addresses concerns raised by the OSC and he seeks to clear up any misunderstanding the Ontario regulator may have about the BCSC’s draft legislation. Mr. Hyndman details how the BCSC’s proposals would improve securities regulation by making them more effective and less burdensome.

The B.C. Securities Commission is the independent provincial government agency responsible for regulating trading in securities and exchange contracts within the province.
