Vancouver -- The B.C. Securities Commission will be holding four training sessions over two days in Vancouver on Tuesday, October 23 and Wednesday, October 24 to provide information to issuers and insiders about the System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders (SEDI).

SEDI is the new, Internet-based electronic filing system for insider reports that will replace the paper-based reporting system on November 13, 2001. By filing on SEDI, an insider will satisfy the securities legislation of all Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) jurisdictions that have insider-reporting requirements.

Over 750 filing agents, company representatives and insiders have already registered for the free sessions being held at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre. Participating in the sessions will help both issuers and insiders to understand and comply with their reporting obligations under the new electronic insider reporting system.
