Vancouver - A British Columbia Securities Commission panel upheld a ruling by the Investment Dealers Association of Canada refusing an exemption from proficiency requirements.

Peter Krag-Hansen, a former registrant and officer, requested a review of an IDA panel decision that refused him an exemption from the requirement to complete and pass the Partners, Directors and Officers course and examination.

The commission panel found no reason to interfere with the decision stating, "proficiency matters are squarely within the expertise of the IDA and there is nothing to suggest the panel's decision was contrary to the public interest."
