Vancouver - The British Columbia Securities Commission announced today that Lang Evans has been selected the securities regulator's new director of enforcement.

During his 19 years at the commission, Evans has worked in operational and senior management roles involving investigations, registration, examinations, policy, compliance, oversight of self-regulatory organizations, and enforcement.

In his new position effective March 26, Evans will lead the BCSC's enforcement strategy through management of more than 45 staff involved in securities investigations and prosecutions.

Before joining the BCSC, Evans worked as a corporate analyst at the former Vancouver Stock Exchange and as a corporate finance analyst at a brokerage firm. Evans is a chartered accountant and he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from Queen's University in 1979.
