MEDIA INVITED TO BCSC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S VICTORIA SPEECH

Vancouver - On Oct. 16, Brenda Leong, executive director of the British Columbia Securities Commission, will present key findings from the 2007 Canadian Securities Administrators Investor Study, showing the social impact of investment fraud on victims. In her speech  to the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, Leong will set the record straight on the BCSC's enforcement record, separate fact from fiction on what a regulator can and cannot do, and outline how the BCSC is combating B.C.-connected abusive junior market activity, especially in the U.S.-based over-the-counter markets.
