Vancouver - The British Columbia Securities Commission’s new InvestRight program featuring a RED-FLAGS communications campaign, designed to alert investors about some of the most common fraudulent sales pitches to watch out for, will be in Prince George next Monday.

BCSC representatives and some campaign partners will be presenting an education seminar and meeting with local police and other community partners Mon, Oct. 16 in Prince George. The northern centre stop comes on the heels of a successful Victoria session earlier this week as part of the BCSC’s campaign to raise awareness of investment fraud in communities throughout BC. Similar stops are scheduled for Kelowna and Kamloops in November.

Prince George-based media and others interested in details about the Prince George session should contact Sam Schachner (604) 298-0897 or Andrew Poon (604) 899-6880.

InvestRight was created to help protect investors from fraud and to give them the tools they need to ask the right questions before making investment decisions. The program is being implemented in conjunction with campaign partners that include The Better Business Bureau (Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and the Interior), the BC Crime Prevention Association and the BC Hydro Power Pioneers, a BC Hydro retiree Senior’s Safety and Crime Prevention Wise Owl program.
