Background:
Swiftsure Securities Ltd. (Swiftsure) purports to be a futures broker and has targeted residents of Belgium and Greece. On its Web site, Swiftsure claims to be located at 207 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, but it is not located at that address.
Swiftsure is not registered in British Columbia to trade in, or advise on, securities and exchange contracts.
Swiftsure is not related to Swiftsure Securities LLC (Swiftsure LLC), a legitimate broker-dealer based in Seattle, Washington, which Swiftsure is impersonating. Swiftsure LLC, which has no Web site, is registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in the United States.
On October 7, 2010, the Banking, Finance and Insurance Commission of Belgium published a warning about Swiftsure.
