Documents most frequently misfiled:
Issuers and filing agents commonly misfile the following documents. The most common errors are technical.
- Annual Information Form
Filed under the wrong category. See Subscriber Update March 2, 2006
for detailed instructions on the correct filing of AIF materials on a national basis. - Technical Report
The document is too large for the filers modem capacity or it’s filed in the wrong category. Scanned documents, colour or large maps, colour photos or photos in general create large files that the average modem is unable to transmit. There is no set file size in SEDAR, however the average person with a home computer will not be able to download a large file from the SEDAR web site. We recommend that you use low resolution and remove any colour or photographs from the document. Refer to the photos and maps that have been removed and make them available upon request. Technical Reports filed under the “Other” category will not be made public. We recommend that a technical report that is not filed as part of an AIF or prospectus filing be submitted as part of a Press Release. - Financial Statements
Financial period ended or financial period date reflects the wrong period end or quarter. - Amended Materials
Materials that are re-filed are not marked amended and do not include a cover page explaining the amendment. All materials that are re-filed should be marked amended and if applicable should be filed under the appropriate amended category. A cover page explaining in detail the amendment should be included in the re-submission. - Other
Generally a document is filed in this category because the filer is unsure where to file the document. Any document submitted under the “Other, General” category will automatically be private. If you are unsure where a document should be filed please refer to the SEDAR Filer Manual or contact your local regulator.
