Vancouver - A British Columbia Securities Commission panel has banned a former mutual fund sales person from selling securities for three years.

Bryan Orr cannot trade securities, except in limited circumstances, for three years after a commission panel approved a settlement agreement between Orr's counsel and commission staff.

Orr admitted that he acted as an unregistered portfolio manager, and made discretionary purchases and sales of mutual funds for clients without obtaining their instructions. He also admitted to recommending unsuitable investments to several of his clients.
