This notice announces our adoption of amendments to the mutual fund rules in NI 81-102 Mutual Funds and its companion policy, which significantly liberalize how mutual funds can invest in other mutual funds. We are also amending the forms related to NI 81-101 Mutual Fund Prospectus Disclosure to mandate certain disclosure for mutual funds that invest in other mutual funds. The notice also announces the adoption of housekeeping amendments to these rules that clarify their application. The rules will be effective December 31, 2003.

The BCI will be effective December 31, 2003.

  • BC Notice 2003/54   - Notice and Request for Comment - Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada Application for Amendment and Restatement of Its Recognition Orders and Application for Consent to Enter into a Co-operative Agreement in Québec

This notice requests comments on applications from the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (MFDA) to amend its recognition order and to enter into a cooperative agreement with Québec agencies regarding MFDA oversight. The recognition order amendments relate to governance, the proposed cooperative agreement, and housekeeping matters. The cooperative agreement would limit the MFDA's role in overseeing the Québec operations of MFDA members.
