Policies and Instruments

  • CSA Staff Notice 52-323 - Coming into Force of National Instrument 52-109 Certification of Disclosure in Issuers’ Annual and Interim Filings

    This notice updates the cross-references to MI 52-109 in various CSA policies and makes certain other consequential amendments. It also confirms that the new national instrument will come into force on December 15, 2008, and that MI 52-109, although repealed on that date, will continue to govern certifications for financial periods ending before December 15, 2008.
  • CSA Notice 11-311 - Notice of Extension of Comment Period CSA Consultation Paper 11-405 - “Securities Regulatory Proposals Stemming from the 2007-08 Credit Market Turmoil and its Effect on the ABCP Market in Canada”

    This notice announces that the CSA is extending the end date for public comment on the CSA Consultation Paper 11-405 Securities Regulatory Proposals Stemming from the 2007-08 Credit Market Turmoil and its Effect on the ABCP Market in Canada to February 16, 2009.
  • Notice of BCSC non-objection to the MFDA’s proposed public interest amendments to the definition of Public Director and to Section 3 of By-law No. 1 - Directors, and variation of the MFDA's Recognition Order to remove the definition of Public Director 

    This Notice announces that the BCSC has not objected to the MFDA’s proposed amendments to the definition of Public Director and section 3 of By-law No. 1 - Directors and that the BCSC has varied the MFDA's Recognition Order to remove the definition of Public Director and make various housekeeping amendments. The amendments include changes to align MFDA governance standards with current SRO practices and to increase the number of individuals who meet the requirements to act as public director.  The BCSC published the proposed amendments for comment on its website on May 23, 2008.  The MFDA has summarized the comments it received on the proposals and provided responses.
