Description:

On November 27, the Canadian Securities Administrators, including the BCSC, published for comment significant changes to the rights offering regime that would reduce the time and cost of rights offerings.

On February 3, 2015, the BCSC hosted a free session to learn about the proposed changes directly from BCSC staff who drafted them. At this session, we:

  • explained the current rights offering requirements
  • introduced the key proposed changes to the rights offering exemption
  • set out how these proposed changes would benefit venture issuers
  • provided an update on the existing security holder exemption, including adoption by Ontario
  • answered audience questions

CPD for Lawyers: You can claim 1.0 hours CPD credit for this session. (The BCSC is a Pre-approved CPD provider with the Law Society of British Columbia)
