Substance and purpose of the proposed amendments
The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) are publishing for comment proposed amendments to National Instrument 81-102 Mutual Funds and National Instrument 81-106 Investment Fund Continuous Disclosure.

The attached CSA notice describes what we and other members of the CSA are proposing. The proposed amendments would:

  • codify certain exemptions that we frequently grant to mutual funds
  • create new operational requirements for money market funds
  • improve transparency by providing more information about the underlying securities in which a fund invests
  • update some requirements and remove unnecessary provisions

Other Amendments
We are also publishing for comment proposed consequential amendments to the following:

  • Companion Policy 81-102CP Mutual Funds
  • National Instrument 41-101 General Prospectus Requirements
  • Form 41-101F2 Information Required in an Investment Fund Prospectus
  • Form 81-101F1 Contents of Simplified Prospectus
  • Form 81-101F2 Contents of Annual Information Form
