Substance and purpose of the proposed amendments
The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) are publishing for comment proposed amendments to National Instrument 81-102 Mutual Funds and National Instrument 81-106 Investment Fund Continuous Disclosure.
The attached CSA notice describes what we and other members of the CSA are proposing. The proposed amendments would:
- codify certain exemptions that we frequently grant to mutual funds
- create new operational requirements for money market funds
- improve transparency by providing more information about the underlying securities in which a fund invests
- update some requirements and remove unnecessary provisions
