This Notice announces that, as part of the Deregulation Project’s goal of reducing regulatory burden, the Commission has identified a number of rules and other instruments that can be eliminated now. The Notice also announces that some proposed amendments to the Securities Rules and Registration Transfer Rules are published for comment with the comment period ending May 27, 2003.

- BC Instrument 57-501 - Partial Variation for Cease Trade Orders of Certain Issuers
This Notice announces that the Commission is implementing BC Instrument 57-501. This BCI permits a beneficial owner of securities that are subject to certain cease trade orders (made before February 13, 2003) to trade the securities on a market outside of Canada through an investment dealer. The investment dealer must ensure that certain conditions are met. The relief is the same as relief included in certain cease trade orders made after February 13, 2003.
