Description:
On October 5, 2017, the BCSC held a consultation on the option of discontinuing embedded commissions, set out in CSA Consultation Paper 81-408 Consultation on the Option of Discontinuing Embedded Commissions. The CSA published the paper on January 10, 2017 for a 150 day comment period. The BCSC, along with other CSA jurisdictions, held consultation sessions to further explore the issues raised in the paper.
The consultation session allowed staff to deepen our understanding of the issues relating to the option of discontinuing embedded commissions. We appreciate the time and effort people took to attend and participate in this important discussion.
