The BC Securities Commission (BCSC) is the independent provincial government agency responsible for regulating BC’s investment markets.
The BCSC protects investors and supports fair, efficient and innovative investment markets. We do this by:
- Setting the rules for securities trading in BC
- Providing investor education
- Enforcing the Securities Act, and taking action if and when necessary.
We are funded by investment industry fees, not taxpayer dollars. Money we receive from our enforcement actions goes primarily to investors or our investor education programs.
The BCSC does not:
- Approve investments
- Insure investments
- Give investment or legal advice
