In April 2017, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) asked for public input on ways we could reduce regulatory burden for reporting issuers. The CSA published the results of that consultation on March 27, 2018 in CSA Staff Notice 51-353 Update on CSA Consultation Paper 51-404 Considerations for Reducing Regulatory Burden for Non-Investment Fund Reporting Issuers. One of the projects identified in that paper is to research alternatives to the current prospectus system for capital raising.
We are seeking investors, public company executives, dealers, lawyers and other market professionals to participate in discussions on the use and challenges of the current prospectus and private placement regimes. Feedback from these sessions will help us identify alternatives to the prospectus system that could help us improve capital raising for reporting issuers.
The consultations will occur at UBC Robson Square:
- Wednesday, November 21st, 12:00pm - 1:30pm - Lunch will be provided
- Tuesday, November 27th, 12:00pm - 1:30pm - Lunch will be provided
Registration for each session will be limited to 20-25 participants and will be on a first come, first served basis. If the date that you register for is already full, we will contact you with alternative dates, if available.
