Vancouver – Canadians will gain better access to their securities regulators and to investor education information on the Internet with a new website launched today by the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA).
The CSA is a national forum for Canada's 13 provincial and territorial securities regulators to coordinate and harmonize regulation of the Canadian capital markets. The CSA website (www.csa-acvm.ca) is another example of how the nation's securities regulators are working together to help Canadian investors access the information they need to make educated investment decisions.
The website offers the following information:
· Information about the CSA and securities regulation
· Contact information for all CSA members and links to the websites of provincial securities regulators
· CSA news releases for the past year
· Investor information including helpful investor education brochures, articles and tips for investors
· Investor education for kids and teenagers with links to resources for them to learn more about the world of investing
· Related website links for electronic public company information, stock exchanges, regulatory organizations and other investor education sites.
The website will soon feature key investor alerts and warnings for investors about suspicious or clearly fraudulent activities that have come to the attention of Canadian securities regulators.
The CSA will continue to develop and update the website so it serves as a valuable resource for Canadians in the investment world.
