Vancouver – A Vancouver man has been charged with three offences under B.C.’s Securities Act following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Branch of the B.C. Securities Commission (BCSC).

Gregory William Lawrence made his first appearance October 20 in Vancouver Provincial Court on charges of fraud and making a misrepresentation to an investor and making a false or misleading statement to BCSC staff. The misconduct allegedly took place in Vancouver and Burnaby between October 2018 and June 2020. He was released on $1,000 bail after being arrested on October 19 in the Vancouver area.

Lawrence is accused of offences under the Act that carry the possibility of imprisonment, probation, fines and/or other financial orders. The charges have not been proven.

The BCSC would like to thank the Vancouver Police Department and the UBC Detachment of the RCMP for assisting with Lawrence’s arrest.
