On November 21, 2006, the BCSC did not object to the amendment to MFDA Rule 1.2.4 Currency of Courses. The Saskatchewan Financial Services Commission, Ontario Securities Commission and Nova Scotia Securities Commissions have approved, and the Alberta Securities Commission has not objected to, the amendment.

The amendment clarifies that Rule 1.2.4 is not an exemption from the requirement to complete certain courses. Instead, Rule 1.2.4 sets out the MFDA's requirement that applicants must have completed the courses and examinations within three years of the relevant time for qualification. The amendment is housekeeping in nature. A copy of the amendment is attached.
