Notice of BCSC non-objection to MFDA's proposed housekeeping amendments to Rule 2.3 – Power of Attorney/Limited Trading Authorization

On August 13, 2008, the BCSC did not object to the MFDA's proposed housekeeping amendment to its Rule 2.3 - Power of Attorney/Limited Trading Authorization. The Alberta Securities Commission, the Saskatchewan Financial Services Commission, the Manitoba Securities Commission, the Ontario Securities Commission, the New Brunswick Securities Commission and the Nova Scotia Securities Commission have approved the amendment.

The amendment clarifies that an MFDA approved person must notify the member if he or she accepts a power of attorney or similar authorization from a client that is a family member.
