Exemption for Raising Money from Existing Security Holders
On March 13, 2014, the British Columbia Securities Commission and most other Canadian jurisdictions adopted a new prospectus exemption allowing issuers listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, the TSX Venture Exchange, and the Canadian Securities Exchange to raise money by offering listed securities to their existing security holders, subject to certain conditions. In B.C., the exemption is found in BC Instrument 45-534 - Exemption from prospectus requirement for certain trades to existing security holders.
