Genius Funds

• In 2009 and 2010, residents of British Columbia purchased the securities of Cyprus-based Genius Funds.  Genius Funds offered investments in two funds: the Emerging Market Growth Fund and the World Bond Market Fund. It also offered investments in a High Yield Deposit Account.
  
  Genius Funds is not registered to sell its securities in British Columbia and has not filed a prospectus with the British Columbia Securities Commission (the BCSC) qualifying its investment offerings for sale.
  
  On February 12, 2010, the BCSC issued a Temporary Order and Notice of Hearing against Genius Funds. On February 23, 2010, the BCSC extended the temporary order and adjourned the hearing to April 7, 2010.  On April 7, 2010 a BCSC panel permanently banned Genius Funds from selling securities and engaging in investor relations activities.
  
  On February 17, 2010, the New Brunswick Securities Commission issued an Investor Alert about Genius Funds.
