Background:
In 2009, British Columbia and other Canadian residents were solicited by Ameron Oil and Gas Ltd. (Ameron) to purchase the securities of MX-IV, Ltd. (MX-IV), which purports to be a Bahamian limited partnership.
Neither Ameron nor MX-IV are registered to sell securities in British Columbia and MX-IV has not filed a prospectus with the British Columbia Securities Commission.
On April 6, 2010 and April 8, 2010, the Ontario Securities Commission (the OSC) issued a Temporary Order and a Notice of Hearing, respectively, against Ameron and MX-IV. On April 20, 2010, the OSC extended the Temporary Order to October 14, 2010, and adjourned the hearing to October 13, 2010.
