Vancouver – A junior mineral exploration company has agreed to pay $30,000 to the BC Securities Commission (BCSC) for violating national disclosure standards for mineral projects.
Critical Reagent Processing Corp. is a reporting issuer in B.C. that is listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange. At the time of the misconduct, when it was known as Graphite Energy Corporation, its principal asset was a property in Quebec known as Lac Aux Bouleaux.
In January 2018, the company published a news release with test results about the property in a manner that violated the Canadian requirements for public disclosure of mineral project information.
Among other things, the company failed to include in the news release:
- A description of how the data was verified
- Information about 72 samples that showed lower percentages of graphite
- An adequate interpretation of the exploration information, and
- The quality assurance program and the quality control measures applied during testing.
The company has no prior history of regulatory or disciplinary proceedings and none of its current management team were directors or officers at the time of the misconduct.
