Vancouver – A corporate insider and significant shareholder connected to five B.C. public mining companies has paid $50,000 to the BC Securities Commission (BCSC) for failing to file timely reports of his securities trading activity.
Christopher R. Anderson was an officer, director, or significant shareholder – or some combination of those roles – for five B.C. reporting issuers, whose shares traded on the TSX Venture Exchange.
As a reporting insider, Anderson was required to file reports disclosing changes to his ownership of a reporting issuer on the System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders (SEDI) within five days of making them. Between 2020 and 2023, he failed to file insider reports about 172 such transactions – involving securities valued at $2,097,332– by the required deadline.
In addition, he admitted that, as a significant shareholder of three of the reporting issuers, he failed to file 28 required reports and related news releases for reportable transactions.
Anderson, who has no disciplinary history of securities misconduct, fully co-operated to correct his filings. He paid $10,300 in resulting late-fees, and agreed to enter into this settlement.
