Background:

Sussex Investment claims to be a cryptocurrency broker that offers cryptocurrency trading, initial coin offerings and trading in its own shares.

We recently became aware of Sussex Investment and that it had advertised in British Columbia (BC) and claimed to have an office at 1066 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC.

Cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin, are a subset of digital currencies.  Cryptocurrencies are not fiat currencies.  In certain circumstances, cryptocurrencies may be considered to be securities under the securities legislation in BC, and trading in or advising on them may require registration in BC.

Sussex Investment is not registered to trade in, or advise on, securities or exchange contracts in BC.
