Vancouver – A Surrey resident committed fraud by raising money from investors and spending most of it on things like gambling and personal expenses, the BC Securities Commission (BCSC) alleges.
David Lawrence Pazurik raised $200,460 from 14 investors between 2021 and 2022 through his sole proprietorship, Pazman Promotions. Pazurik allegedly told investors they could enter into a profit-sharing agreement in which their funds would be used to fulfil sales contracts for Pazman, which purchased and customized branded merchandise for other businesses. Investors were also told they would receive a return of their investment plus a specific amount of profits in a short period of time.
Instead, Pazurik allegedly used nearly 73 per cent of the funds he raised – approximately $146,000 – on items and expenses unrelated to the purposes of the investments, including gambling websites, personal expenses and payments to friends and associates. He also allegedly failed to fully pay returns to investors as promised.
By doing so, the BCSC alleges that Pazurik committed a fraud under B.C.’s Securities Act.
The BCSC’s allegations have not been proven. The Commission requires Pazurik or his counsel to appear at the BCSC’s offices on November 18, 2025 if he wishes to be heard before a hearing is scheduled.
