Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) - Rules Bulletin - Technical - Revised Implementation Date for Amendments Respecting Trading Increments
This Bulletin provides updated information relating to proposed amendments to the Universal Market Integrity Rules (UMIR) respecting trading increments (the Amendments), including a revised targeted implementation date. On December 18, 2025, the Amendments were finalized with an implementation date of November 2, 2026 to align with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Rule 612. On June 11th, 2026, the SEC issued a new order granting temporary exemptive relief from the compliance date for Rule 612 until the first business day of November 2027. It is intended that the Amendments will now take effect on November 1, 2027.
